Sun Sun come and play! Shine the clouds and fog away!
It's been two weeks now since we returned from Maui, and it's been two weeks now since we've seen the sun. ARGH... The weather man tells us that the inversion and fog should blow out sometime soon. I do hope so as my respiratory health depends on it. I can appreciate winter until the end of January but after that I'm all about spring. That's the pattern every year.. get thru January, white knuckle it thru Feb. (luckily its only 28 days), hold on tight thru March...Hope for flowers and sun in April. We'll see. Hoping for the best. C.

This is Ryann Mckenzie Crossett. She just turned 8 on January 16th. She is the spotlight for the day or month rather. We usually celebrate her birthday starting on January 1st. Ever since she was little and couldn't keep track of dates we've told her that her birthday is after New Years. So January 1st she pulls out the birthday chair cover from Grandma Jeanie, covers her chair and the month long celebration begins. (She's always the spotlight of our family) Ryann is in the 2nd grade and loving it. She is the "funny" one in our family. On our first day in Hawaii I called home to make sure everyone was doing ok and Ryann said "Don't tell dad but I'm making a joke for when he comes home". This shows her dedication to her jokes as we weren't goning to be home for 5 more days. Ryann is also very outspoken. Those of you that are close to us have probably received a personal insult from this little angel... This last sunday we were at the Stake Baptismal preview and one parent was supposed to get up in front of everyone and tell about the child to be baptised. David took the job. He was so excited to talk about her and he was beaming with pride. After he finished, he came and sat down next to her.. put his arm around her looking for approval that what he said meant something to her. Ryann looked up at him and said "You blew it dad." What? Did she just say that? Yep. She did. We love her!
This was our most recent Family Picture taken in September 2008.

Trading in snow... for sand...

Yes, the snow finally got to us. I couldn't take it another day... David and I enlisted the help of some friends and family and made a fast break to the island of Maui. If you'll notice we even picked up a tourist visor. We spent 4 beautiful days. We experienced sun and then rain and then more sun. Hawaii is even beautiful in the rain. It was amazing. I was able to get a small tan line even through 35 spf sunscreen. That's my testimonial that sunscreen is good.. apply it.
The goal this year is to visit/go somewhere every month. Maui took care of January and I have a fun trip planned to Sayulita Mexico for February. Now accepting ideas for March, April, May... and so on. Even if its to come to your house.. The goal will be accomplished as long as I leave Idaho. Woot Woot! Happy travels.
